Betania Ridenour, SEP (they/she) is a mixed (Mestizx) somatic practitioner, a teacher and student of place-based skills, a broom maker, and a forever student of plant and folk medicine. They believe that strengthening our connection with our More-Than-Human relatives can improve our interpersonal relationships and well-being.
Jean Madrone Lynch-Thomason, RH, SEP (they/he) is a clinical herbalist, somatic practitioner, abortion doula, and parent whose practice centers disability justice and queer liberation. They really, really love the mountains and waters of the northwest and the Appalachians.
Join other queer disabled folks in learning from and supporting each other, building community, expanding our skillsets for grounding and nervous system support, and sharing hot tips on managing pain, stress, and living with chronic conditions. Regardless of what kind of disability, chronic pain, or chronic illness we live with, bringing support to our nervous systems can help ease pain and symptoms and help us manage the stress of living with chronic conditions in ableism. The general format will be a somatic practice followed by personal sharing around a particular topic, followed by learning about a plant medicine together and/or a brief informational session. We will learn about a few plants for building resilience and nourishing our bodies, bring in somatic tools, and learn about our nervous systems together. No prior knowledge of herbal medicine or somatic practice needed.
This space is for anyone who is queer and/or trans and living with chronic illness, chronic pain, or who identifies as disabled. If you're wondering if you're disabled or chronically ill enough for the group, you are.
